Men in the UK will be able to buy Viagra over the counter after consulting with a pharmacist and without a prescription for the first time today.

ViagraConnect manufacturer, Pfizer, estimates more than a fifth of men aged over 18 in Britain suffer from erectile dysfunction, but almost half of those over 40 have not sought medical help.

Where will Viagra be on sale?

The erectile dysfunction drug will be available in 14,000 stores across Britain and via pharmacy websites.

The tablets will be available exclusively from Boots until 10 April.

Who can buy Viagra over the counter?

Those aged 18 and over will be able to buy the tablets following a conversation with a pharmacist or after filling out an online form. Men can ask to speak to a pharmacist in a private consultation room if preferred.

The pharmacists will determine whether treatment is appropriate for the patient and give advice on erectile dysfunction, usage of the medicine and potential side effects. They will advise men to consult with their doctor no less than six months after buying Viagra so that any potential underlying conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease can be investigated.

A Boots spokesperson said that the man affected by erectile dysfunction should buy the drug themselves wherever practically possible.

Who will still need a prescription?

Men with severe heart problems, those at high risk of heart problems, liver failure, kidney failure, strokes or those taking certain other medicines, will still need to be prescribed the drug under the supervision of a doctor.

How much will Viagra cost?

A four-pack of the tablets will cost £19.99 and an eight-pack £34.99.

Men who buy it will be advised that they can take a 50 mg tablet an hour before having sex, but should not use more than one pill a day.

Viagra is is already available as an NHS prescription free of charge for those eligible not to pay for their prescriptions.

Is there a limit to how many tablets can be bought?

The pharmacist will decide how many packs will be supplied in a transaction.

Why has Viagra been made available over the counter?

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) announced in November it was to steer men away from buying the tablets from. In 2016 £17m worth of unlicensed and counterfeit Viagra was seized.

Kristie Sourial, Pfizer’s medical manager, said: “It’s important to remember that erectile dysfunction is a medical condition, and that the impact often goes beyond the physical symptoms – it can lead to men feeling anxious, depressed and lacking in confidence.

“Our hope is that the availability of Viagra Connect in pharmacies will encourage men who do nothing about their erectile dysfunction to seek help, and encourage those who are inclined to seek help to do so sooner.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the use of sildenafil (Viagra), which is also known as “the little blue pill”, could lead to fatal side-effects, including cardiac arrest and sudden loss of vision. The drug, which is marketed as a treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), is also prescribed for erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. The WHO says that the use of sildenafil may cause some of the effects listed below.

1. Heart attack: Viagra and other ED drugs have been linked to cardiac arrest. Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, is a PDE5 inhibitor. It is the only PDE5 inhibitor that is approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It may also cause some of the following adverse reactions: headache, nausea, vomiting, flushing, nasal congestion, and dizziness. The use of Viagra and other ED drugs can cause some of the following adverse reactions: chest pain, shortness of breath, shortness of urine, nausea, and dizziness. If you experience any of the following adverse reactions, you should stop taking Viagra and seek emergency medical attention: an erection that lasts more than 4 hours and lasts for more than 3 hours; chest pain, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath; or if you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours. In some cases, sildenafil may cause you to be dehydrated. It is important to take sildenafil at least one hour before or two hours after taking any medicine for erectile dysfunction. You should also avoid consuming alcohol with sildenafil if you are taking any medicines for erectile dysfunction. If you notice any changes in your vision such as a blue color tinge or blurred vision, contact your doctor. The WHO has also reported that some people may have had a sudden loss of hearing, which may affect their hearing and other hearing, and may have a sudden decrease in vision or hearing, which may cause ringing in the ears, dizziness, or ringing in the eyes. The following are some of the possible side-effects of sildenafil. These are not all the possible side-effects of sildenafil, but they are of a general nature and can be expected to cause a serious, potentially life-threatening condition.

Viagra, or ‘the little blue pill’, is a prescription medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It belongs to a group of medicines known as PDE5 inhibitors, which work by blocking the enzyme PDE5. This allows the PDE5 enzyme to work more efficiently to relax blood vessels in the penis, which helps to increase blood flow to the penis. Sildenafil is also used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), which is a condition where the blood vessels that supply the lungs are narrowed. If you are taking this medication, it is important to tell your doctor if you are taking sildenafil or not.The WHO says that it is now estimated that more than 300 million men are affected by this condition. The WHO says that the estimated prevalence of the condition ranges from 0.5 to 2.8 million men in some areas of the world. The WHO says that the condition is not well understood, but it has been reported to be very common among men aged 20 to 80 years old.

A new study by pharmaceutical company Pfizer, the world's biggest drug maker, said its erectile dysfunction drug Viagra was being illegally sold over-the-counter at a pharmacy in Britain.

The drug, which is sold under the name Propecia, could be bought over-the-counter in the UK. But the manufacturer, Pfizer, said it would not sell it in the US.

It is one of the largest counterfeiting rings in the world, with about $3.5 billion worth of fake drugs sold in the US alone.

The report came after a study by the British Medicines Board found that men who took an over-the-counter version of the drug were four times as likely as men who had not.

The study was funded by Pfizer.

According to a Pfizer press release, the study was conducted by researchers at the University of Liverpool.

A spokesman for Pfizer, Andrew Freeman said: "The findings from this study support the use of Viagra in the UK and the continued growth of counterfeit drugs."

However, he added: "The findings come from a phase 3 study in France and a phase 2 study in Spain that did not find Viagra as an option for patients."

Pfizer said it had suspended sales of Viagra after the study was stopped.

The company said: "Pfizer is committed to bringing about a safer, more convenient and less expensive way to access affordable medicines to millions of people around the world."
